This morning I drove up to Lake Livingston State Park, where my friends Sheryl and Mark were camped for a couple of nights. The park is only twelve miles from CARE.
They had a beautiful shady site on high ground facing the lake. Along the edge of the water is a paved path where people can walk or fish from their chairs. The cool breeze coming off the water made for a very comfortable environment. They had a campfire going and – at least most of the time -- the smoke was blowing away from us. For lunch we had a tasty chicken salad, fresh veggies, croissants and fresh fruit salad. It really hit the spot. The spare tire carrier served as the dining table.
They are leaving tomorrow morning, heading for a campground on Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. I was happy to have had at least a short visit with them.
