Two Hams in a Can travel blog

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled RV's yearning to pass...

We had planned to stay two days at St. Francois State Park in Missouri, but found they were booked solid for the weekend. Thursday night was open, so we just stayed one night. Just as well as there was no phone signal in the park.

Friday, we drove into Sikeston, MO, whose claim to fame for us is the original Lambert's cafe - home of throwed rolls. We first discovered Lambert's last year in Ozark, MO, close to Springfield, but here in Sikeston is where the first roll was thrown. Of course we had to eat there, again bringing enough food home for supper the next night.

The RV park in which we stayed was nice - the only one I've ever seen to have its own Statue of Liberty. Madison made the acquaintance of two horses which thrilled her to no end. She loves mammals - doesn't pay much attention to birds, but squirrels, bunnies, deer and horses - she LOVES!

Saturday, we head for Memphis and add a new state to our map.
