Michelle and Charlie's Around the World Trip 2004-2005 travel blog

That evening we took a train to the Casablanca airport. Our flight home was leaving at 7:00 am which meant another night at the airport. Charlie found a great, quiet place in a deserted part of airport and we put out our thermarest matts and slept off and on for a few hours. Unfortunately, they decided to clean the floor with a zamboni like machine at around 3:00 am. Charlie pointed out the irony that this was the only place in the country where they had any machinery for cleaning the floors (we had seen lots of brooms and what not in use on the city streets). There was also a family of 4 "sleeping" at the airport which meant a screaming baby for a few hours and a little boy running around with nothing on but a shirt at one point when I got up to use the bathroom. But it was still relatively good and the flight home, through Paris, came off without a hitch. [One thought about cleaning. Both in Egypt and in Morocco lots of people were working very hard on trying to clean the streets. They were sweeping and sweeping. The process is going wrong because everyone is throwing all the garbage away at will. And they have lots of will to do so- Charlie ]
