We have been busy exploring all the state parks in the area. Missouri's parks are all free and are some of the nicest ones we have seen. We packed up a picnic lunch and headed to Table Rock State Park today. This is what we love about Branson. You can see all the shows, shop the malls and have anything on earth you want for dinner, but nature is only a few miles away from town. Branson is surrounded with three lakes and lots of state parks. Our kind of town. :-)
Table Rock State Park is located in the center of the Ozarks of White River valley. This 356-acre park surrounds Table Rock Lake. It has 152 campsites that are located close to the shoreline of Table Rock Lake for easy access to the water. If you love water sports, you can rent a ski boat or Jet Ski, a 48-foot catamaran, paddle boats, pontoons or fishing boats.
The camping sites are huge with awesome views of the water. (see photos) The price is $19 a night this time of year with full hook-ups. I think it's $26 a day in the spring/summer months.
A variety of wildlife and native plant life can be found in Table Rock State Park. White tail deer, red and gray fox, wild turkey. It also has a great trail that is more than 2.5 miles along the shoreline of Table Rock Lake. It's 8 feet wide and has an asphalt surface to accommodate bikes too. We enjoyed our visit much and will be back for more. Check back later for more from Branson.
