We spent another five hours in the park today. We saw the stage production of the Dicken's Christmas Carol. This original musical adaptation of the classic by Charles Dickens was incredible!! The show had a wonderful live band, a extremely talented cast, astounding special effects, stunning Victorian scenery and period costuming. It was outstanding! I wanted to take a ton of pictures, but they were not allowed.
After this show, we had about 20 minutes to get to the next show where we saw The Living Nativity. Another incredible show telling the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Christ. All of the shows, rides and entertainment are included in the price of admission. We could have spent a week in the park and still not do everything they have to offer.
This park is really crowded at this time of year and the lines were long, but worth the wait. We have been to Disney in Florida for Christmas and tons of other parks and have seen a lot of beautiful Christmas decorations in our life, but Silver Dollar City is the all time favorite for us. Now we know why the Travel Channel calls Silver Dollar City the most illuminated park on earth. It has over four million dazzling lights, including a 5-Story Christmas tree on Main Street that comes to life each evening with dancing lights changing color every few minutes. It was amazing! They usually have a parade each evening too, it started to rain and they canceled today, so we missed it.
We spent two days in the park and enjoyed every minute. If we lived in this area we would definitely buy a pass for the year where you can go back as many times as you wish. We highly recommend this park to everyone.
