Our Trip To Western Australia travel blog

Arrived at Harrington early afternoon after a slow drive from Denman. All went well till we hit Civilisation, then at a roundabout there were red and blue flashing lights to our left the police blocked the road and a HUMUNGOUS wide load took up its course in front of us. We followed at a very subdued pace until I spotted a sign to Raymond Terrace in East Maitland so despite Karen’s initial protests I took off to the left and Karen decided it was ok to go this way and directed us to the Pacific Hwy via the back route around Raymond Terrace, we also save about 12km going this way as well and it was faster than having to go via Beresford.

We are at the Oxley Anchorage Van Park at Harrington, not a great number of tourist sites but the one we had booked (No. 92) is fairly good, generous size a bit of dirt and grass though we parked the van on the dirt and put the car the other side. Great location to just across from the river and Gracie has already been for a swim and played chase with a stick and another dog. The bowing Club is just over the road as well and most of the residents of the park seem to be lawn bowlers, they walk across to play a few “ends” with their bowls in little trolley suitcases using their bowl picker upper as walking sticks, good on em’….
