Bumming Around with Daisy 2011 travel blog

Today was a very busy day for me and, by the time I had completed my TO DO list, I was feeling drained. Summertime temperatures and I just don’t get along very well.

My first stop was at a jewelry store to see whether my very casual silver ring with blue topaz stone could be repaired. The stone had come out when I had put my hand into my pocket! It would have cost nearly as much to repair it as the original cost of the ring, so I decided not to do it.

After my back therapy, my chiropractor had some good news for me on the results of a bone resorption lab test. I am in the normal range, which means that there is not an abnormal increase in bone loss. He wants me to have additional lab tests done, which I have scheduled.

I had quite a bit of time until my appointment at the Victory Medical Center, so I ran a few more errands. I had lunch at Chick-fil-A, where I used a coupon for a free chicken sandwich. Not only did they give me the sandwich but they also included a free drink. Can’t beat a deal like that!

At the Victory Medical Center I asked that the doctor remove impacted wax from my ears, which a hearing test technician had told me was there. However, the doctor said there was none. Good news! We also talked about my occasional acid reflux and she said that, as long as Prilosec OTC is taking care of it, I should not worry. She mentioned some of the foods and drinks that can cause acid reflux (caffeine, fried or spicy foods and peppermint, to name a few). I already knew about all but peppermint. My blood pressure was excellent (110/68). I’m to return tomorrow for a blood draw for a few other standard tests. She was surprised at how long it has been since my last physical (12 years). I’m not expecting any bad news, though.
