We left Williams, AZ and drove to Gallop, New Mexico the first day… The entire Interstate of I-40 is part on the historic Route 66 and from the looks of things they are trying to restore a lot of the area back to the 50’s…. The overpasses along the freeway are beautiful and at the center they all have the Routt 66 road sign and wonderful artwork on the structures….. We spent the night at a very nice RV park called USA RV…. They had long pull-thru sites so we didn’t have to unhook our truck… This is what we will be doing for the next few weeks so I will captures as many of the great sites along the way…Once we crossed into New Mexico the time moved forward to Mountain Time so we lost one hour….

We had planned on going to Albuquerque the next day but it was still early so we continued on to Santa Rosa where we found another nice overnighter that we didn’t have to unhook/… This park was right on Route 66 and being Friday night in a super little city, it was very busy…. That didn’t keep us from an early night after sharing a wonderful shrimp dinner delivered to our house from the restaurant on site….

Today we drove on a short day to Amarillo, TX to the Oasis RV Resort… We had another time change once we got to the Texas Panhandle and we lost another hour….We now only have one more to go but that will take us awhile to get to this change…. We are thrilled with this park…. $20.00 a night and laundry right across from us for 50cents a load….. Even though we have our own washer and dryer on board, I did two loads at home and 4 loads of laundry at one time across the street…. I was able to get all our rugs cleaned at this place…. Everything is now up to date except for lots of dust still creeping in the RV and will be until we reach our home in Florida where I will do a deep cleaning.

The Oasis also has an on site restaurant and since we are right across from this, we went there for supper tonight…. We ordered a pizza to share and enjoyed it so much that we didn’t bring any leftovers home…. Guess we shoul have ordered a large one instead of the medium……

Pictures are on our route since we left Arizona… Some of my favorite are right on the border between Arizona and New Mexico….

We flew our flags and lit candles in memory of all those that lost their lives nine years ago today and shed a few more tears while watching the news this evening....

Nite....
