We spent about five hours at Silver Dollar City today. We went to see the holiday classic, It's a Wonderful Life. This is one of our favorite Christmas shows and they did an excellent job of bringing it to life on the stage. In this original musical adaptation of Frank Capra's 1946 film, small town businessman George Bailey discovers the true value of life, family and friends with a little help from his guardian angel,Clarence. The show featured dazzling special effects and a talented cast of 14 actors and singers. My favorite part was when Clarence got his wings. :-) I managed to capture a pretty good picture to show everyone, even though flash was not allowed.
We were so impressed with Silver Dollar City, we are going back for a second day. There is so much to see you can't possibly do it in one day. It would probably take a week or two. It is one of the most beautiful parks we have visited.
We also rode the Frisk Sing - Along Train through the park and the beautiful Ozark countryside. The train makes a special stop at a tiny cabin in the woods belonging to Grandpa & Grandma. Grandpa sits outside in a rocking chair and tells the children on the train the story of Christmas. All rides and shows are included in the price of the ticket. We got a two day ticket and are glad we did. Check back later for "part two" of Silver Dollar City.
