|Tuesday we took the short walking path from our site here at Point of Rocks RV Campground to Watson Lake. This beautiful lake offers fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, camping and day picnicking. The campground has not yet officially opened for the season so it was very quiet. We did enjoy watching a group test their rock climbing skills on the granite face as this is where local mountain rescue groups train.
Today we chose to hike the Peavine Trail which runs along the southeastern side of the lake into the scenic Granite Dells. It was an easy hike and the weather was perfect so we enjoyed it immensely. Lake Watson's water surface is about 380 surface acres and is distinguished by its sky blue calm waters surrounded by granite boulders. It scores right up there with Sylvan Lake as one of the prettiest small lakes we've seen in this great USA!
I didn't take my 'good' camera, just my point-and-shoot but I still got a few good pics. Next time I'll bring my trusty Nikon D-5000!
And finally, today is my 'younger' sister Elaine's birthday. Happy Birthday Sis, hope it's a great day!!!! We love you :)
