|Today we visited Mary, a longtime family friend and co-worker of mine when I was still in the working force. In fact, Mary was my Maid of Honor at our wedding in 1985. She retired and moved to Prescott with her son Tom several years ago. She loves it here but is happy Spring is just around the corner as the cold winter was a bit tough on her this year. We were originally going to take her out for lunch but ultimately decided to have our St. Patrick's day meal at the house. It was so good to see her again.
After our visit we headed downtown to locate a Post Office and take a stroll around the square. Downtown Prescott is lovely and even though we've been here many times we still enjoy it. Whiskey Row has a ton of history and I think their Courthouse with it's Plaza Bandstand is really cool. Today there were several musicians hanging out and of course there are plenty of shops displaying local artisans wares. And numerous saloons as well! We passed on the saloons today as our tummy's were full and it was too early for Happy hour, lol.
Tomorrow we plan to take a hike around Watson Lake, located right next door to our campsite. It looks lovely from the road, almost as pretty as Sylvan Lake. See you then. Have a great day!
