This afternoon we had a “Spring Fling” party in the dining room. Lisa Tyler, our activities director, and three other staff members danced with walkers to the song, “These Boots Were Made for Walking.” It was pretty funny. Then Lisa conducted a spring (as in “coil spring”) tossing contest. Everyone whose spring landed inside the basket on the floor received a potted plant. Then she taught participants how to dance to the 1962 hit song, “The Loco-Motion”. The rest of us were supposed to make the hand motions and sounds at appropriate moments.
As usual, we had plenty of refreshments, which were supplied by three health-care agencies in Livingston. The dining room was decked out with colorful table cloths, potted plant centerpieces and balloons tied together to resemble flowers. It was all very festive and fun.
