Loved this film!

Today Larry & I went to see Life of Pi, a 2012 American 3D adventure drama film based on Yann Martel's 2001 novel of the same name. This film earned eleven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It was also nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, including Best Picture – Drama and Best Director and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score. When running the credits at the end it stated that this film took over 600,000 hours to make and employed more than 14,000 people!

Bottom line, the movie is visually amazing, inventive, and it works on you in ways you’re not really aware of. It takes you on a journey, and unless you’ve read the book – which I hadn’t – you have no idea where that journey is going. It does what good 3-D is supposed to do, which is, it allows you to forget you’re watching a 3-D movie. And, how refreshing it was to see a movie like this with no cursing or sexual innuendos. It might be a bit intense for very young children however. I highly recommend that you spend the few extra dollars and see it on the big screen in 3-D rather than waiting for it's release in March. It was AMAZING! I loved it and think you will too!!!!
