Franklin Mtns at El Paso

We drove exactly 100 miles from Deming to the El Paso West/Anthony KOA (used to be American RV Park). That left us time to get the truck inspected & drive back down to Old Mesilla for a late lunch. We hadn't been to Old Mesilla since we left El Paso years ago. Our favorite restaurant is no longer there so we ate at La Posta de Mesilla - a very worthy substitute. The building was part of the La Posta Compound, originally constructed in the 1840s. La Posta de Mesilla Restaurant was opened in 1939. It's a beautiful old adobe structure - & the food was good, too.

Since we were able to accomplish everything in 1 day, we're moving on east across Texas tomorrow. Plans are Fort Stockton tomorrow nite & then on to Kerrville the next. There's not a lot to see going across Texas & we've made this trip several times so probably won't post again for a few days.

More later...
