Sunset on our passage from Astoria, Oregon

It was a full moon

Newport - Home of Rogue Brewery. How about a Dead Guy Ale?

Well after another overnighter we safely pulled into Newport, Oregon and once again pulled up to the guest dock. Just 12 months ago we left the boat here to take a trip to Kaui with Mike's brother and his wife (Les and Debbie). Once we returned we took off and made our last open Pacific passage to Neah Bay. That means we have lots and lots of miles to go to make our return trip.

We have had lovely weather here. Not much has changed. We've taken care of some maintenance items, caught up on laundry, walked to the beach, etc., etc.

We are about to leave and make two consecutive overnight passages before a big low pressure systems stops us in northern California. What are we waiting for?? Newport, Oregon is home to the Rogue Brewery. Today is their 'garage sale'. Killer prices on growlers (1/2 gallon jugs) and ceramic bottles of their ale. This beer is definitely one of our favorites. Mike is determining how much weight he can tie and lash down in various places and still keep the boat afloat while we make way down the coast. If all goes as planned, I will update next from Fort Bragg (Noyo River), California. Cheers!
