|Well, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve and day. We stayed in for the evening as I mentioned in my last post and watched the fireworks display on Channel 8. I've attached a 4 minute youtube version of the 8+ minute fireworks display below if you'd like to see a bit of what we saw. We do have a great view of it live from Bonnie & Larry's front yard but it was just too darn cold to stay outside to watch it live! I think we made it for about one minute out there, lol! It's pretty impressive if you've never been to Vegas for New Year's Eve, so enjoy....
New Years day Bonnie cooked our traditional pork roast, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut dinner. No black eyed peas for this family! We've never learned to like them. Their daughter Cindy & her family as well as granddaughter Ashley & her family joined us. As did Larry & Tawnia & their family. So it was a nice day all the way around. Good food & good company, what more can you ask for!
Yesterday we had lunch with our good friend Pat Cooper. She is here visiting her son from Kalama, Washington and is leaving Tuesday morning. We're so glad she had time to visit with us before she headed home. We visited Pat when we were in Oregon in October but she was in a rehab center at the time. A young man ran her down while trying to catch a football and she broke her hip. Had to have a hip replacement. Oh my! Anyway, we had a nice visit at the rehab center but Olive Garden was definitely better, lol...
Well, that's about it for now. We're heading out to do a bit of grocery shopping and a few other errands. But before I close I want to wish our granddaughter Serenity a very Happy Birthday and our niece Cindy one as well. Happy Birthday ladies!!!! We love you and hope you both have a wonderful day!
