Getting ready for take-off

'Hey, I want to ride too' says the groundhog right behind our...

Notice the windmills on the hillside

The windmills a little closer up

We had a very windy drive today from the Mojave National Preserve to Tehachapi, CA. It wasn't quite white-knuckle, but almost! The campground here is right next to the runway for glider planes. It gives us a great opportunity to view the flight operations as there have been several take-offs this afternoon. The sites have 50 amp electricity and water and a dumpis provided. Best of all, we are close enough to a major highway to have broadband internet on the aircard service. I went ahead and posted the entry from Mojave earlier and will make this entry later tonight.

As you can see from the site picture, it is surrounded by large cedar trees which provide a welcome respite from the wind. It is blowing hard but we barely feel it here in the motorhome. Tomorrow we head for Fresno so we can see the Clovis Rodeo.
