Mule at Site 59 - Meadow Camp

This is embarassing

Raystown Lake

Seven Points Marina

We are staying on Site 59 at Meadow Camp in the Seven Points Recreation Area of Raystown Lake. Carlie - if you ever participate in that "shoot" again, this is where we will stay!!! There are at least three or four different camping areas with a total of 193 sites - many of which would be ok for our RV. At Meadow Camp, where we are now, there is 50 amp service, no water or sewer but a dump station and water station where we can both dump and fill up. Ridge Camp also has alot of good sites for us but only 30 amp service.

Weather has been yukky. Today was supposed to be the best of the days but it was very cloudy all day and by 5:30, it started to rain in earnest. We spent several hours in the kayaks today - for the first time in all of the time we have been gone. The lake was fairly calm and the water was very warm.

Yesterday, we fished a little standing on the bank near the marina. I caught 8 sunnies. Bob caught 0 - so....I am the household champion fisherperson. Of course, when you see the photos of the fish, you will realize that it is almost or rather actually embarassing to even call these little sunnies "fish" for counting purposes. Bob told me that if I held the fish out in front of me, it would look bigger in the photo. What do you think?????

Saw cormorants, osprey, blue herons, many many turkey vultures, crows, chickadees...and lots of sunfish.

I'd definitely live in this place - what a nice part of PA this is. In fact, it is nice compared to many places we have been this summer. High, rolling hills and a lovely lake with warm water...lovely vistas and good kayaking and fishing. Place has got it all.
