Steve and Connie's Alaska Roadtrip 2015 travel blog

Yesterday the weather was very hot, and the same today. But we were able to open the windows to sleep, because the nights are cool and comfortable. Today we explored Kelowna a bit. We didn't realize it until we got here, but our camper was built in this town. The city is an upscale farm district where you can get lots of fresh vegetables and fruit on any corner. The lady who owns the park where we are staying also provides fresh eggs and free range chickens. There are several wineries here, and lots of cherry orchards. Grape vines and cherry trees are used for everything from separating campsites in RV parks, to delineating greens on the golf course, and even for privacy hedges. There is a huge lake that centers the downtown area. Farmers markets, craft shows and festivals in the many parks there. Lots of boating. We took some pix of the lake area, but they were accidentally deleted during a technical meltdown. We enjoyed a nice lunch at an Irish restaurant in town, and took the dog to the dog beach in then afternoon. We really like this tiny little RV park and hope to come back to spend more time in this area before too long. Forgot to mention Kelowna is also a university town. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in British Columbia!

Tomorrow we leave for Prince George. Another long day of driving. Canada and Alaska are very big places, and we are not able to spend as much time in some areas as we would like to. It would take months to make the trip!

May life bring you nothing but joy until we meet again.
