Norcold fridge wouldn't lite on LP. Tech cleanded & adjusted burner—OK...

Our intention upon departing Jacksonville was to drive as far as Marianna, FL and overnite at a Wal*Mart or so. We arrived at Marianna about noon (we gained an hour on the way), and we both felt good and rested, so we pressed on. Well, we ended up driving all the way to the Escapees Plantation Park in Summerdale (southeast of Mobile), Alabama. A long day (407 miles) for us, but we got a very nice spot in a QUIET Escapees park, complete with the usual Escapees hugs upon checkin.

We were on Interstate 10 just about all the way, and traffic was mostly light with some jamming near the cities (Tallahassee, Pensacola, etc.) We switched off so each of us drove only about 100 miles at a time. Carpe Diem ran fantastic and turned in an impressive 9.4 miles per gallon for the entire day. We even got to buy our first over four dollar/gallon diesel ($4.07/gal). Whoopee and thanks B. Hussein...

When we stopped for lunch at a rest stop we switched the fridge to LP gas, but it would not light. We tried several times and it finally lit on the sixth time. Well, this morning we saw a mobile RV service truck at the rig next to us, so we went over and asked if he was Norcold certified, which he is. He stopped by, cleaned & adjusted the burner, and now it lights on the first attempt. Need that gas mode for this summer's boondocking.

We're off this noon to try one of the well rated Gulf seafood restaurants (we're only a few miles from the Gulf.)

More anon...
