The Largest Torrey Pine

Seal Rookery

Attack #8-Copped in Carpinteria
22 May - We continued our attack along the coast with a short convoy to the combat starting point in the town of Carpinteria. There was ample parking on the street for our various battle machines including all of the AVs. In addition to numerous beautiful vistas of the Pacific along the route, we encountered two significant POIs (points of interest) during our march. The first POI was the Wardholme Torrey Pine, planted in 1888, it is the largest known Torrey Pine Tree in existence at almost 7 feet in diameter. The second POI was the Seal Rookery (secret training facility for the Navy Seal Team) where we encountered enemy spies monitoring/tracking the seals while posing as civilian members of the CSWO (Carpinteria Seal Watch Organization).

Upon completion of the mission, we discovered that an overzealous traffic cop (a Deputy Barney Fife wannabee) had ticketed our AVs for “T” parking violations. Does he know who he’s messing with? I promptly marched into the cop shop and confronted Barney who revoked my citation. Larry, who reached the Deputy via the CRNS (cellular radio network system), was informed to write a letter of appeal as Officer Fife admitted he should not have written the tickets. I suspect that he had previously been refused induction into the MPF (military police force) and this was his way of dealing with the rejection.

We advanced to Santa Barbara for the 2nd attack of the day.
