We arrived here in South Bend yesterday after driving through way too much traffic for a Sunday morning. The first 65 miles was still on US30 and wasn't too bad but then we started approaching Chicago and got on the turnpike to go the rest of the way. one hundred miles and 18.25 in tolls later we got here. There was quite a bit of construction on the turnpike though none of it caused detours, it did slow things down a bit and congest the traffic with lane closings. It felt good to get around Chicago and get back out into the countryside in Indiana.
After arriving here at the KOA, we spent the next three hours getting the things we needed out of the Mothership and into the Kamping Lodge. The lodge is pretty nice. We have a bedroom, bathroom and combination kitchen, dining and living room. I was able to get the satellite locked in so we have DirecTV. After that was all done we headed on a dry run to the shop repairing the Mothership to check out the route and also got something to eat. We then came back to the lodge and just cooled it for the rest of the night. Well, we had to watch some NFL too!
Today we dropped off the Mothership and then did a little shopping at Wally World before taking in the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart. They has some really unique old RVs and I have included a few pictures but they only represent a very few of the many RVs that were there.
