Getting ready to take the tour of the Wild Turkey Distillery

The bourbon is aged in barrels like these

There are over 20 of these warehouses where the barrels are storred...

Bridge over the Kentucky River

We arrived at the Kentucky Horse Park on Thursday afternoon. On Friday we drove to Lawrenceburg to tour the Wild Turkey Distillery. On the way to the distillery we passed some beautiful horse farms. The bourbon is aged in barrels made of white oak. Each barrel can only be used once to age bourbon so after they are used they are shipped to Ireland and used to age Jameson Irish Whiskey. Wild Turkey and Jameson are both owned by a French company.
