Tower, Basilica and Baptistery

This was to be a big day as we travelled from Firenze over the Appenine Range to Bologna then Padova and finally Venezia (Venice).

I woke up feeling like absolute shit... A bout of the flu that made me feel miserable for the day.

We headed off to Pisa first thing to check out the Leaning tower. Wonderful experience and Robyn and I even paid the 15 Euros each to climb the tower. I'd have to say it was worth it.

At least then most of the day was spent travelling in the bus so I could sleep off some of the flu. We finally stopped at Padova to visit, you guessed it, another Basilica. At this one it has the relcis, (tongue, vocal chords and jawbone) of a Saint. IF you were to pass a candle over the tomb of this saint you would then be able to take it home and it would heal the sick. Well, some people will believe anything...

We arrived in Venice late but that was not the end of the day. After dinner we headed out for a walk around Venice at night through all the narrow streets. Quite an amazing experience and quite different from what we will see tomorrow.

Finally collapsed into bed after midnight, by then I was really dragging my heels.
