Phyllis & Stan, our hosts for the weekend, thanks guys!

Woke up early but messed around & got a late start. Decided not to go see the meteor crater after all. $15 admission per person seemed like a bit much to see a hole in the ground. And because we were moving so slowly this morning, we really needed to get on the road. The temperature was 42 when we pulled out & that also made us also rethink our crater position. I don't particularly like being outside unless is is at least 55! We were camped about 35 miles outside of Flagstaff & it was an uphill climb all the way. We needed fuel, but the cost was $3.76 where we were staying. Yikes! Guess we'll fuel up in town.

We arrived to find diesel $3.46 there, somewhat better, but still not great. We bought some KFC & coleslaw for lunch just to make it easy for today & stopped at a beautiful rest stop for lunch about 2 hours later. Larry talked to a trucker about an Atlas he was reading, thought it looked interesting. Seems it points out all of the low bridges & problem roads for big-rigs which would certainly help us. Guess we will be purchasing one for ourselves. We have Suzi (our GPS) programmed to avoid tunnels & bridges but sometimes she messes up. This will give us a backup plan. At 13'3", we have come really close to a big scrape a time or two!

We arrived in Phoenix about 4pm but had a slow go after getting on I-17. Took us about 30 minutes to go the last 8 miles. But we arrived safe & sound, & got set up before dark. Dave & Marianne arrived from Nashville a couple of days ago & Larry's sister Bonnie & her hubby arrived about an hour later. Boy were we glad to see them! Phyllis made some wonderful beef stew for dinner so that everyone could eat as they arrived. And then we all moved out into their beautiful backyard to chat, listen to the music & even dance a bit. The weather was perfect! Couldn't believe how nice it was. We did have a couple of fireplaces lit & towards the end a heater or two. About 10pm there were yawns & bobbing heads, so one by one folks began drifting off to bed. So Larry, Onyx & I made our way out front to our little place, watched the news for a few minutes, & we are off to bed ourselves now.

More folks are arriving tomorrow. Nieces & nephews for a total of 26 for Thanksgiving dinner! Wow...2 turkeys & a ham plus all the fixin's. Can't wait, makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Hope you all have a wonderful day as well. Goodnight...
