I think I mentioned in one of my last posts about the difficulty we had in finding a convenient place to camp while visiting my aunt & uncle in Clearlake Oaks, California. We knew that facilities in the area were limited and eventually decided to stay about 5 miles outside of town in the small community of Glenhaven. We found a lovely small RV park right on the lake, and even though we really didn't spend much time on the property, I thought I'd share a couple of pics in case you get into this area.

The property has 5 RV spots as well as a motel with 10 Theme Rooms. There is too much to post here available so I'll just put a link to their website. Bottom line, the place is immaculate as well as pretty and provides a great home base. I did manage to negotiate a better rate than the one listed on the website although it was still higher than we normally like to pay. But after all, we were in a resort, right? LOL

It was a real pleasure to spend time with my Aunt Toots & Uncle Will. Will had a stroke a couple of years ago & his prognosis for regaining speech, clarity of thinking and walking etc. was not good. Through sheer willpower & determination he now speaks & thinks clearly, walks short distances with a walker and even stood to greet us with a cane! Bravo Uncle Will, we are so proud of you! He is my dad's youngest & only living brother and it was like spending time with dad again if only for a few days. Boy, are they ever alike in so many of the mannerisms! And my Aunt Toots is still doing very well too. She is the primary caregiver and is doing a great job. I know it's hard on her, both physically & mentally. Bottom line, we were very impressed and so happy we got to spend a couple of days with them.

In tomorrows post we move on, headed to Ely by way of Reno. So we'll see you on down the road...
