In 1964, Don Laughlin bought a bankrupt bar and motel on six riverfront acres in the southern tip of Nevada for $235,000, and opened what would become the Riverside Resort, offering all-you-can-eat chicken dinners for 98 cents, 12 slot machines, and two live gaming tables, along with 8 motel rooms (4 of the rooms were occupied by his family). Today, Laughlin is a mini-Vegas and does a booming business. You can read the whole story here.
I enjoyed my stay here with lots of walking, hiking, geocaching, and dirt-bike riding. I also enjoyed a movie, a show, and the bright lights of the casinos.

9 November - I didn’t get very far today for sure. I moved to another Casino but I’m still in Laughlin.
