We had a fun day attending several Christmas events for Padre Island. The main event we wanted to see was the Lighted Boat Parade. We tried to get a reservation at several of the restaurants to watch the colorful parade but they were all totally booked. We did manage to see some of the boats while crossing over the bridge but could not get any pictures of them.
We also attended the Holiday Art Show. It had a variety of artworks from over 30 artists and artisans on display for art aficionados and holiday shoppers to enjoy and get a jump on holiday shopping. They had some beautiful birds, I wish I had more room in the RV to put them. :-)
After the Art Show, we walked through the Holiday Sand Castle Village. It was filled with unique Holiday Sand Sculptures built by incredibly talented sand artists. From a Sand Snowman to Sand-ta, and much more. We enjoyed seeing all the sculptures. They also had a lighted musical performance starting at dusk but we didn’t attend today, maybe next visit.
We had dinner at Dirty Al’s again, this place has some of the best shrimp and great specials. We have eaten at two out of the four restaurants in the area and love them. It was another fun-filled day on the island, check back later for more.
