I used to own a motorcycle and Mom & I were in this area while the motorcycle rally was going on in August of 2006, so why not visit Sturgis when it is relatively quiet? It’s a little town with only a few main streets, so it’s hard to picture it with hundreds of thousands of people and bikes all around.

The museum has lots of motorcycles in it, mostly vintage ones. I enjoyed the room telling about women who were first at racing, driving cross country, and even designing and building bikes! ”Pappa” Hoel started the rally in 1938 to try to sell his Indian motorcycles. It grew from having 20 people to the record attendance of over 600,000 people in 2000.
