The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

We moved from windy Carcassonne to the small town of Elne close to the French/Spanish border and also close to the southern Pyrenees. It was only one of two campgrounds open in the area, all the rest were closed for the winter. Our campground hosts had just the spot for us in large field area, where the ground was good and solid at the back of the campground. It even had views of the mountains and was very quiet. We had got there just before lunch so we had lunch first before setting up. However we tested the electric pod there was no electricity so we had to wait till 3pm when the office opened again after lunch. While we waited we thought we would get the water heater working as it had played up while we were up in Carcassonne. Although sparking we were not getting LPG coming through. We got it to flare up once but then it failed again. Looks as if we had a problem. Fortunately we had the electrical element which when we had electricity seemed to work OK, but we would have to manage what we can use according to the supply until we return to the UK.

After we finally set up a German couple in their large European motorhome came and joined us on the field as they said it was noisy on the front part of the campground.
