Mon, 12 Oct: A short drive, and Full Hookups...

After two full weeks boondocking on the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta RV grounds we finally rolled wheels. The RV grounds officially closed at noon so vacating was not an option.

We arose when we wanted to without the noise of shuttle buses, helicopters, police sirens, and the other noises we've associated with the fiesta. Our tea was enjoyed at our usual relaxed pace, as was breakfast. Then we started the chores of getting the coach ready for the road following two weeks parked.

Engine oil, tire pressure, windshield de-bugging, etc., etc. Meanwhile the folks on both sides of us departed giving us oodles of room to maneuver. Bob repositioned the coach so we could connect the car and we rolled wheels at half past ten. A mile along Alameda Blvd. to I 25 south. Rush hour was over and the trip thru Albuquerque was easy and painless.

We continued south on I 25 to Belen, where we exited the Interstate an exit south of where we wanted. Our desired exit was closed due to construction. We backtracked north thru town and eventually arrived at La Vista RV Park about 1140. We got checked in and plugged Carpe in to 50 amp service! After two weeks without external power plugging in was a luxury.

After getting set up we drove into town where we had lunch at Pete's Mexican Restaurant. Our park host recommended it as the "best in town", and we'll agree. We both had the enchiladas and sopaipillas. Yummy! Following lunch we made a Wal*Mart stop and are now back home enjoying the air conditioning.

At the time of this writing we have no idea where we'll be staying tomorrow. Full timing is a lot about serendipity, and we're going with that.
