We drove about 25 miles today to Salida, Colorado to visit the closest Walmart. Buena Vista has a very nice grocery store about one mile from our campsite, but we needed a “stock up” shopping day and Walmart is our favorite store for stocking up.

On our drive to Salida, we passed so many awesome mountains I could not stop taking pictures of them. This area also has a lot of horse farms with beautiful barns etc. We saw over 50 deer, they are everywhere here. We have ten that visit our campsite daily. One crossed the road right in front of our car on the drive and many more were on the sides of the road. We also saw Llama farms on the drive and hundreds of prairie dogs.

After our shopping at Walmart, we had filet mignon at Quincy’s Steak House in Buena Vista for only $8.95, It was delicious. We also drove along a scenic drive following the Arkansas River. We were surprised at the beauty of this drive, it reminded us of the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was a wowser!! I am adding a ton of pictures and hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we enjoyed exploring this awesome area. Check back later for more from beautiful Colorado.
