Our sweet little campsite from last night! We got all packed up...

A beautiful morning in Kansas!

Corn! Beautiful Kansas corn!

A train went by loaded down with the blades from giant windmills....

It was long, and hot and windy . . .but we made...

Will have to keep this one simple! We are totally out of energy!! diverted from our route following hwy 96 east thru Kansas to go north to visit friends in Oakley, Kansas. We had a choice of making two short days, but knowing there was going to be a strong wind from the south, thought it would be clever to take advantage of it and go north, let the wind work for us! We did that and in fact got all the way to Oakley, all 85 miles of it!

The part heading north was earlier in the morning and before the strongest wind of the day picked up. We did fly the first 30 miles, this afternoon sometimes the wind was a cross wind and helped us a little sometimes catching us from behind just a little to help. Gusty swirls caught us up every now and then but we pushed on.

Kept very well hydrated, stopped for snacks frequently, did all the right things but we are really tired now!!

So forgive me for cutting it short, and we will be with some friends tomorrow!

Have a great evening everyone!!!!!!
