Today is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I left Pecan Grove RV Park for good and went to Johnson City, where I will stay at Roadrunner RV Park for a little over three weeks. This is the first time I’ve towed my car since I moved into Pecan Grove in 2009. I had wondered whether my stiff back would interfere with hooking and unhooking the car but it didn’t. It did take me longer than it used to and it made me quite tired, though.
I will return to Austin on July 23, after the Cen-Tex campout at Roadrunner, and will be house sitting for Wes Spradley until September 21. After that…who knows where I’ll be? I’m on the waiting list at several RV parks in and near Austin. Maybe there will be an opening by the time I finish my stint at house sitting.
While hooking up to the water spigot I couldn’t get the connection tight enough to avoid leakage. The park maintenance man helped me and discovered that my pressure regulator was bad. I bought a new one from him. I was really glad that I didn’t have to make a trip to the hardware store to get one.
By the time I had finished getting settled, I was “hongry” – not a mere wimpy hungry – so I walked over to the Subway shop in the strip mall next to the RV park. That sandwich really hit the spot.
Other businesses in the strip mall include a supermarket, hardware store, medical office, Family Dollar, bank and gasoline station. That ought to take good care of my needs for the short time I’m here.
