Early this morning I had an ultrasound of my abdomen. Since early May I’ve had four episodes of severe stomach pains with nausea and dizziness. At first I thought I had eaten tainted food but now it seems unlikely that it was the cause that many times. The most recent episode was last Friday. I had to leave Silver Sneakers early that day. I went to Well Med and saw the physician’s assistant. He prescribed some anti-nausea medicine and ordered the ultrasound to determine what the problem is. The medicine stopped the nausea and pain very quickly.
The ultrasound was finished in plenty of time for me to go to Silver Sneakers class next door. I ate a power crunch bar to give me energy for exercising. Today I walked on the treadmill at 2.5 mph for 15 minutes before class. I’m gradually increasing the time and speed as I build up my strength.
After class I went to Best Buy to look at a particular smart phone, GreatCall’s Jitterbug Touch 3. There is no annual contract or cancellation fee. It comes with built-in health and safety apps, which is what I was especially interested in: (1) 5Star – Access to NAED-certified 5Star agents to get help 24/7 (2) Urgent Care – Unlimited access to registered nurses and board-certified doctors without an appointment, (3) MedCoach – Reminders about prescription schedules and (4) GreatCall Link – App for friends and family to stay updated on my health and safety, including GPS location. It also has a 5.0 megapixel camera.
With my plan I have 400 minutes (free long distance and roaming), 300 text messages and 100 MB of data. This is more than I normally need. By activating it before the end of August, I’ll receive a free car charger. I hope it will work well for me.
