Today we got started early so as to continue our homeward journey...now shooting for Tuesday. We wanted to take the interstate from Great Falls thru Helena, Butte, Bozeman and Billings as we had heard it was a beautiful drive, though somwhat longer than going cross country thru Montana. People were correct. It was a beautiful drive, but again very mountainous, and lots of construction. Some of the areas along the Missouri river rivaled any scenery we saw on our tour. I think there were more steep grades on this day than any we had in Canada or Alaska. Some construction on long downgrades were limited to 25mph, but necessary in any event. This made for a very long and tiring day. We decided to go on past Billings to a KOA near Hardin,Mt, close to the Custer Battlefield, so we would be nearly done with mountains for this trip. It will leave only a lttle bit in Wyoming and the Black Hills for tomorrow.

We arrived at the Hardin KOA at 5:45pm settled in, and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
