Taipei 101 disappearing into the clouds

Today was mostly spent walking and looking at waterfalls. There were a lot of them, about a dozen altogether, and some were very nice, but I couldn't really get the pictures I wanted of them. There was a fair amount of hiking involved in yet more steep jungley valleys, but luckily the rain just held off. This was all in the Wulai and Neidong Forest area just south of Taipei, very blessed with dramatic surrounding countryside for such a large capital city.

On the way home I went to look at Taipei 101, apparently still the tallest building in the world at over half a kilometre. Its a nice looking building, though I wasn't in the right position to really appreciate its height. And as I was near the Warner Village multiplex I went to see 2012, which had a dire and painfully contrived plot, etc, but was awesome to watch visually as the world got completely trashed.
