We have spent the past few days at the Ford dealer, shopping, driving around, and one museum. Yesterday we spent most of the day at the New Mexico Natural History and Science Museum. It was a fairly decent museum and it took us several hours to go through. They have it laid out by age. We started at at 4 billion years ago and walked around until we got to present day. We also saw their moving on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. It was done by a Kennedy and narrated by Robert Redford. The filming was excellent, but I was a little miffed about all the negativity on how we have screwed up the river and how we waste water. The movie tried hard with a message of water conservation and anti-dam building. They didn't mention any of the good things the dams have done. Other than that, it was a good film.
One day we spent going to trailer places looking for parts for the stove. Some little pieces got lost. We spent another day at the Ford dealer after they fixed the anti-freeze leak. The engine now takes forever to heat up. When we leave here the temp is in the 30's or 40's and we are driving downhill. We get all the way to the bottom of the hill, 8 miles, before we get heat out of the heater. Well, they declared everything is just fine and it is operating the way it is suppose to.
We finally got the paper work on our latest membership park buying. We upgraded our Western Horizons to include all the parks, and upgraded our AOR to Platinum, and we added ROD (Resorts of Distinction). ROD gives us lots of rv parks we can use for free, as well as the Western Horizon parks. Too bad we didn't find this deal first, as we would have save some money. They really deal on these memberships. The funny part is the paper work says we paid $4,995. But we paid about $3,000 less than that. They even financed it over 18 months at zero interest. So basically nothing will be coming out of our pockets because we will be saving the $100 a month in camping fees. It took forever to get to Rusty's RV Park, and we had already left. Then we had it forwarded her. Mail in this part of the country is slow.
Today it is snowing and it is not warming up. So I think we may just hibernate in the rig.
