Toby-Sue Trip to the Gulf of Mexico 09-10 travel blog

It was a beautiful day on Tues., so we thought we would drive over and see what was happening in Patagonia. It is a little town west of here. We have fond memories of Dennis and Marilyn when we are there. The town itself hasn't changed much. It has many galleries, and shops. Property is VERY expensive. We got info on a 10'x10' building, sitting on a 50'x100' lot. A mere $245,000. It is a great area, but come on. We drove out to the state park too. When we were there with Dennis and Marilyn, it was full of campers. This trip, there were 2. Very sad to see. All you campers have to get out and use these parks, or they will go away. We had to get an ice cream cone for the trip home. When we got back to the park, we learned there was going to be a holiday concert in town. The US Army MI band was playing. At first, we weren't sure we were going to go. We are so glad we did. They were wonderful. At then end, they asked veterans to stand and be acknowledged, when their branch of service was played. I proudly stood when the Army's song was played. After listening to the concert, I said to Sue, "it is not ALL about killing and shooting". She agreed. There was a particular emotional spot when they explained that on Christmas day in 1914, in Imperial Germany there was a ceasefire. The troops started singing Silent Night, and walked out to greet the enemy. WHY can't we get along like that ALL THE TIME? I won't preach, but I have always wondered that. We are getting a taste of winter here. There is snow on the distant mountain tops. Windy, and sunny here. Until later. Bye.
