Ginny's Adventures 2009 travel blog

Wait, I never said I was going to North Dakota - what am I doing here? Let me explain. I kept my appointment with an RV dealer/mechanic shop in Blackhawk, SD this morning so that my slideout could be adjusted. They gave me some bad news. The slide is actually okay, but the coach is sagging at the rear end and there is evidence of structural stress! They jacked up the back of the coach and it put everything back in alignment, but they don't have the means to provide the supports needed to keep the coach plumb without the jack.

So, I called Fleetwood to find out what to do. They don't accept that it's a design flaw, but they can repair it at their facility in Decatur, IN in the beginning of September. That won't do, so they found a facility in Shakopee, MN that can handle my repair. I have an appointment with them on Monday, the 13th at 8 AM, so that's why I'm heading East. It would take me a day to go via I-90, but I've been there, done that. I decided to go North then East then South to get there. Besides, I haven't been to ND yet and need to fill in my USA map. Might as well make the best of it!

I am sure glad I stayed at a truck stop in Bowman instead of going further north and maybe to Dickinson! They had a tornado rated F3 go through town, causing damage the night of the 8th/9th! I experienced high winds where the dirt was flying by me and I was rocking a bit. The wind went from west to east and I was facing east and am very glad of that! I thanked the good Lord for keeping me safe this night!
