After leaving the Albuquerque area, we decided to head south on our way back to Texas. As we were driving through Fort Sumner, NM, we saw the Billy the Kid museum

The museum is family owned - passed down from father to son and contains all sorts of things from early time periods, not just Billy the Kid artifacts. Everything from old farming implements to an early RV

We picked the KC RV park in Clovis to overnight because it was an Escapees discount park, but it was $20 a night with the discount - way too much, but we were already committed to a two-night stay. The park is totally flat with lots of gravel and clay which got pretty bad when it rained which it did a lot. When we left, we had bits of clay adhering to the entire front part of the Airstream and all over the bottom of the truck.
Clovis is a bigger town than I thought, it has a super WalMart and lots of restaurants of every type. At this point, we're just anxious to get back to Texas and see the kids. It's funny, but once you commit to coming back - touring has no flavor.
