We visited another awesome Colorado State Park today, that pass we bought when we first arrived in Colorado has really paid off. We save money every time we visit the parks for the day and even more when we camp in the parks.
Rifle Falls State Park's lush vegetation and waterfalls have attracted photographers and movie crews from around the country who come to capture the area's unique scenery. The falls is a lush area of trees and greenery kept moist by the spray of the cascading triple waterfall. The falls are 80 feet high, I took several pictures of Jerry by them so you can see how huge they area. Mysterious limestone caves beneath the falls entice curious visitors to explore their dark depths. Jerry was brave enough to go inside them, I looked in and thought about waking up a huge bear. :-)
Rifle Falls State Park has 13 drive-in and seven walk-in campsites that sit to the south along East Rifle Creek. The first thing we saw when we drove into the camping area was a beautiful Mule deer. We also saw over a dozen wild turkeys. If you are looking for a place to enjoy nature, Rifle Falls State Park and Rifle Gap State Park are the place to be. We have enjoyed our visit very much. Another awesome day in Colorado, check back later for more.
