3/6 – 3/8
It was a 71-mile drive (SR95) to Lake Havasu State Park for the Bluegrass on the Beach bluegrass festival. When we arrived, David and Dianne had reserved a spot for our house right next to theirs. We pulled in, set up and made it to the first 10:00am performance. The festival was excellent. Not only did we spend time with our good friends, we also listened to some great bands including Spinney Brothers, Monroe Crossing, Adkins and Londermilk, Junior Sick and Rambler’s Choice, Blue Highway, Sonoran Dogs, Nu-Blu, Karl Shiflett, Big Country Show, Larry Efeu and the Bluegrass Mountaineers and Red Dog Ash. We liked every band except Red Dog Ash and our favorite was Junior Sick and Rambler’s Choice.
This was the last time we will see David and Dianne’s home. When they left the festival they headed for California to trade their rig for a new, shorter version.
