This campout was very well attended and there were lots of activities: Line dancing lessons by Janis Shull, several other dances taught by Duane Praschak and several table games. A real treat came in the form of Junior and Virginia Karas of Morgan, Colorado. They played for us both Friday and Saturday afternoons. Virginia played trumpet and Junior played several other brass instruments, accompanied by taped music. They were very good.
Saturday morning Juanita Smith, Barbara Bell and I walked on the trail along the shore of Lake Buchanan. Saturday afternoon Ed Lohn led us on a drive to see wildflowers. This year’s crop wasn’t quite so abundant as last year’s but they were still beautiful.
I took a friend, Juanita Smith, with me to this campout. I let the dinette down to make a bed for her. My little Chinook was crowded but we made it just fine. On the way home Sunday, we stopped at the Christmas Café in Burnet for lunch. Vee Grimes and Barbara Althaus joined us there.
