We got up early this morning and went out for more exploring. We drove the beautiful Kane Creek Scenic Drive. This is the area the locals we met at the birding area told us about. We are so glad they did, it was another outstanding area to visit. I am giving out of words to express the beauty of this area. :-)
Kane Creek Road is a paved road that heads west out of Moab, Utah, paralleling the Colorado River for a section. It offers mountain bikers access to a number of Moab's great biking trails. We talked to one lady biking in the area and she told us where the road stopped and where to turn around. We were tempted to try driving the Hurrah Pass at the end of Kane Creek Road, but was advised not to with our car, we needed a jeep today.
This area is loaded with incredible campgrounds, most are BLM campgrounds, they do not have full hook-ups. Some are located right on the Colorado and are very tempting. We spent a week without our WiFi and it almost killed us, so these are not for us right now. We are very spoiled campers. ;-)
We saw huge mountains, deep canyons, caves, one even looked like it had a bear sleeping in it, I zoomed as close as I could get with the camera but still couldn’t make it our for sure. It was a “wowser” day, the beauty of the area is breathtaking. Another great day in Utah, check back later for more.
