|Today we visited the Holocaust Museum and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. It's been exciting absorbing all of this history first hand, but what has been even more fun for me is watching Cosmo learning, reading and asking questions. I am also learning about what I see, but also about myself. When we first came to this house in the Anacostia section of Washington, I was on edge about the quality of the neighborhood, uneasy with the constant sirens. In the last four days, I have gotten to know our Airbnb hosts, played with their adorable dog, said hello to the neighbors and relearned a concept from childhood: don't juge a book by its cover. Shame on me.
