We had a great time in Moab today. First we visited the MARC Holiday Art and Craft Fair. The fair featured unique, locally crafted gifts for Christmas shopping. After shopping, we had a wonderful lunch special, they were serving fish for Friday and we were happily surprised to see it was Halibut. Wow! We did not expect Halibut, our favorite fish. It was awesome and we were happy campers.
After lunch we drove the Highway 128 Scenic Byway along the Colorado River all the way to Fisher Towers. I will be doing a separate update about this incredible drive. We have driven it before, but this time the river was half frozen with ice islands floating in the water, just spectacular.
If this was not enough for one day, we finished the day off at Moab’s Swannery City Park for the Christmas tree lighting. Santa was there and boy was he popular, he had a lot of kids waiting to talk to him. :-)
Beautiful ladies dressed up in Santa outfits outfits lead us in Christmas songs before the lighting of the tree. They also had free cookies and delicious hot cocoa. The cocoa was much needed, it was so cold I thought my toes were going to break off. The high today was only 18 degrees. We also have more snow expected tomorrow. We got down to minus –2 degrees last night. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! We will be going to the Annual Christmas Parade tomorrow, check back later for more from Moab.
