Tonight I went with a group on the CARE transit van to Conroe to see the musical, “42nd Street” at the historic Crighton Theatre. I enjoyed it very much. There are some very talented people involved with this theater. It almost made me tired watching the tap dancers. I just wish I could bottle some of their energy!
On the way to Conroe we were delayed about 45 minutes by a terrible wreck just ahead of us in which a little Nissan SUV ran into the side of the engine compartment of a pickup truck. The car was demolished and even the truck was undrivable. The firemen had to cut off the car door in order to get the driver out. We feared that the car driver had died at the scene because the ambulance drove away without sirens or flashing lights. In any case, from the looks of the car, it seemed impossible that anyone could have survived.
We arrived late at the theater but saw most of the play. It was nearly midnight by the time we arrived back at CARE. It’s about an hour’s drive to Conroe.
