This morning I had an appointment with a general surgeon to discuss my options for removal of my gall stone. He said that the best way is to remove the gall bladder since it isn’t necessary for life. It will require only a very small incision at the navel and will not require hospitalization. I will just have to take it easy for about five days – no lifting, driving my car, etc. If I were to have only the stone removed, it would leave me vulnerable to a recurrence of gall stones and leakage from the gall bladder. I opted for removal of the gall bladder, which is scheduled for next week.
