Tim Hanging Out Laundry Behind Our Inn

Caught the bos going to Gilgit at 8:45 which in turn dropped us at the KKH intersection w/ the road across the Hunza R. up to Chalt, the only town this side of river part of Nagar sect of Islam(rather than Hunza). We stood waiting 10-15 min when a fellow stopped to ask where we were headed. He proceeded to stop a car leaving and negotiated for a ride for us...driver turned around and took us to Chalt! Nice folks...dropped us at the only game in town, Chalt Tourist Inn, room or camping 200 r.($2.50 US). Served us a nice omelette but the chapati was a bit greasy. The weather was changing every 10 min w/ clouds, spits of rain, sunshine...Suzanne Hein & Michael Linke from Germany(motorcyclists we've run into all along the way) are here as well. We planned to hike a short distance to see the area but after just half an hour we were in the midst of a croud of curious school kids all using their English.."What is your name?" etc. It became a bit much plus the weather looked threatening again so back we went to the Inn. Some tea & Susanne & Michael joined us to play Up til they left for dinner at some Prince's home.

Here there is no vegie option on menue so we ordered hot water and made our noodle bowls & this time the chapati was fresh, not greasy, w/ tea of course.
